This is a quest for African Philosophy/Mysticism or an attempt to think of issues related to personal development or mystic journey from the perspective of an African worldview. The first question the book raises is whether Africa has a mystic way or a philosophy and, if it does, what identifies it from other ways such as the Eastern or Westernized Eastern ways currently dominating the market. Then it goes on to present 35 steps of personal development in a very condensed and poetic fashion. It is forwarded in the hope of inspiring conscious efforts to develop a framework of moral development consistent with African shared values. It is in the category of an inspirational reading with the form not common to the Ethiopia literature. As a bonus, it contains other things such as the “history” of Quantum Study Circle – a book club once famous among book loving young people in Addis in the years between 2004 and 2006 (G.C).
