It is great to read such a beautifully crafted understanding. Your understanding seems to be well accepted by lot of people in the western world. But in Africa and Ethiopia especially, we evolved to be an isolated community that won't entertain divergent ideas. Our society became violent and negligent to such radical ideas. They many not be new to us. As you mentioned it can be part of indigenous cultures not spoiled by later traditions and religions.
But those people who used to preach and convince heaven and hell to us have now decided to live in heaven only on this planet. They used to teach us that if you are hungry on this planet, you will be quenched in heaven. Then we decided not to care about our hunger on earth. In my opinion that somehow made us accept our poverty and suffering

Loss of direction and dignity, poverty and suffering results. Therefore, we are also to blame for what is happening to us. Much blessings!
